Geothermal science in Iceland

Iceland, the country where volcanoes and glaciers exist side by side, takes advantage of its natural riches for its energy supply because it has neither petrol nor nuclear power. It is therefore relying on hydraulic energy and geothermal energy (the Earth’s heat), which are both renewable, to provide it and its fellow-citizens with electricity. The country even aims to be the first state in the world to no longer use fossil fuel energy by 2050.
