The aim is to help the Tuvaluans make their small territory an exemplary state in eco-friendly and renewable energy matters. |
Le niveau des mers pourrait augmenter jusqu'à 1 mètre avant 2100. Conséquence du réchauffement climatique provoqué par les gaz à effet de serre, l'élévation du niveau des mers et des océans est provoquée principalement par la dilatation des océans, mais aussi par la fonte des glaciers. Ce phénomène pourrait varier de 10 cm à 1 mètre. C'est peu pour nous, mais c'est beaucoup au Bangladesh dont le tiers du territoire serait inondé, ou à Tuvalu où 9 îlots ont déjà été engloutis, ou encore pour un Vietnamien du delta du Mékong. La moitié de la population mondiale vit à moins de 100 km des côtes. |
