Georges Cazes is a geographer, expert, and pioneer of the study of tourism issues. He is now retired and, throughout his career as a geography professor, in particular at the Université de Paris I, has been interested in the various impacts of tourism on societies, especially in the relationship between tourism and the third world. He has published the following books on the subject: “Colonies de vacances?”, “Le tourisme international à la conquête du Tiers Monde” (L’Harmattan, 1989), and “Tourisme et tiers-monde, un bilan controversé” (L’Harmattan, 1992).
