Pharmacy professor, Jean Marie Pelt is above all a botanist, ecologist and toxicologist. After a long series of assignments abroad, he now shoulders numerous responsibilities. He founded the European Institute of Ecology in Metz in 1972, which he still chairs today. He is also chairman of the European Association for Man, Nature and Life and general secretary for CRIGEN (Committee of Independent Research and Information on Genetic Engineering). He is known to the public through radio and television broadcasts, and his multiple works on botany and ecology, the most recent being “New world tour of an ecologist” (Fayard – 2005), “After us, the Deluge” (with Gilles-Éric Séralini Flammarion/Fayard – 2006), “It’s green and it’s working” (Fayard – 2007).
