Rachid Amirou is a researcher at the CNRS (The National Center for Scientific Research) as a sociologist specializing in tourism and cultural heritage and is also professor at the University of Perpignan (France). He holds a Ph.D in arts and human sciences and is a graduate of the Institute of Political Studies. He is also head of the tourism department of the ESC (École Supérieure de Commerce) group of business schools in Troyes (France), manager of the electronic review ReTour and member of the National Tourism Council of Paris, an advisory body on all legal texts related to tourism. Author of numerous books, Rachid Amirou questions the moral legitimacy of responsible traveling and contemplates the way we travel.
