Richard Seager has been a researcher at the University of Columbia’s Lamont-Doherty Earth Observatory (New York) since 1992, studying the influence of tropical atmosphere-ocean interactions on climate on a global scale. Throughout his career, Mr Seager has worked with numerical models, past climate observations, and reconstructions to understand the physical mechanisms causing climate variability and seasonal changes during the glacial-interglacial periods. His latest research focuses on North American drought in relation to tropical Pacific and Atlantic Ocean temperature variations.
