The network of Jardins de Cocagne (Gardens of Plenty) in France includes around 100 active gardens, and 15 in the planning stage. These organic market gardens were set up to be a non-profit co-operative. With 490 permanent salaried staff, they contribute to and supervise the professional and social rehabilitation of 3000 workers who were outside the job market. The Gardens of Plenty allow adults having social or professional difficulties to find employment again and to get back on track with their personal goals and ambitions. In 2007, 15 000 families had subscriptions for the weekly delivery of organic vegetables from the Gardens.
