The American Ministry of Energy has built a 10 megawatt power station in California. The solar energy is concentrated by 1 926 swivelling mirrors spread on an 82 750 m² surface turned towards a radiator/exchanger in which a heat-conveying liquid (salted water in this project) flows. The power station can supply electricity to 500 000 houses. This process is particularly suited to areas where there is a high rate of sunshine.
