The « Windela », a streetlight that is both economical and eco-friendly, combines wind and solar power to produce energy; it is made up of a turbine and solar panels and stocks electrical energy in 4 batteries which can be autonomous for 4 to 5 days. At 5.5 m high, the system uses 10 times less energy than a traditional streetlight and can resist winds up to 200 km/h. The city of Grenoble in France, as well as Moroccan and Algerian cities now use the system.
