The Californian company Nanosolar’s« solar film » is as thin as a coat of paint and can be applied to any surface : walls, garage doors, etc. The ink, printed on this metal film absorbs light and turns it into electricity. The manufacturer can print several hundred metres of film a minute. The main advantage is that this silicon-free material costs 10 times less than the traditional solar panel.
