By renovating an old domestic waste dumping site, an organisation created an educational teaching area on the environment. On the two-hectare site, the 2 500 m² devoted to waste were covered by a 1.5 m layer of fill to make it into an hay prairie. The technical team and the city employees, with the help of volunteers, are in charge of maintaining the site. The children of a neighboring school have planted groves and hedges of trees of indigenous species. In 2000, there were more than 150 vegetal species; some of these are considered rare.
