London’s éco_friendly village

In London, an eco-friendly village of 82 houses and 2 300 m2 of offices and businesses, BedZed (Beddington Zero Energy development) was set up in 2000. Its inhabitants consume 90 % less energy than the British average and have reduced their greenhouse gas emissions by 40 % compared to a traditional village, with the help of renewable energies, local and recycled materials and reinforced insulation in the buildings.
