In India, wind energy has seen a spectacular boom since the installation of the first wind farm in the state of Gujarat in 1986. With more than 3 600 MW installed, this country is now the world’s 4th wind power. But India’s wind capacity is estimated at 10 times its current capacity. For this country whose annual economic growth is of 8 %, developing clean energy sources is as much an economic strategy as an environmental one.
