Multifunction nature park
26/08/2008
The "Parc du Chemin de l'île", a park created by the city of Nanterre is not just used as a place to relax. It also acts as a « filter garden »; water taken from the Seine passes through a series of seven cascading vegetal basins, in turn. The plants were selected for their filtering and purifying properties. This water is then directed to a second part of the park where wetlands have been set up; this encourages biodiversity in the city.
