Less plastic !

Since January 2003, the island of Taïwan has banned the distribution of free plastic bags and containers in businesses and restaurants. Everything plastic, from the simple plastic shopping bag to fast food plastic coffee cups is taxed. One bag costs 3 cents. A year after the law was introduced, the use of plastic bags had gone down by 69 % and total solid waste had decreased by 25 %.
